Kura:
At 14, Kura began producing, rapping, songwriting, and engineering himself from his bedroom in Royal Oak, Michigan. Inspired by the music of the Sex Pistols, Aphex Twin, and Pi’erre Bourne, he quickly gained recognition for his confident vocals, versatile flows, and dizzying melodies. Younger than all of his artist peers, Kura’s lyrics not only portrayed the rockstar life he was about to have, but also the reality and adversity he faced.
Kura’s music continues to develop, reflecting his ever-evolving lifestyle, mindset, and taste. His 2020 album, AKURA, helped lay the framework for the growing Hyperpop scene at the time. It predominantly featured production from star boy, Outtatown, and Loesoe, who have since contributed to the recent sounds of Trippie Redd, Playboi Carti, and Ken Carson. Working with the enigmatic producer and digital creator, lumbyst, Kura’s released two singles: “REAL SCISSORS” and “ICEKREAM”. As frequent collaborators, the duo has plans for a joint project set to release in late 2023.
During his time as “Blockboy K”, Kura’s DIY process garnered him millions of SoundCloud plays, thousands of Spotify listeners, and the attention of some of rap’s biggest names. At just 17, Kura was offered the opportunity to work alongside one of his idols: Grammy award-winning rapper/producer, Pi’erre Bourne. He signed a production deal with Pi’erre’s label, SOSSHOUSE, and has spent the last two years recording a collaboration project with the historically influential artist. As a versatile producer, Kura has produced tracks for big-name Detroit artists like Babyface Ray, Veeze, GT, and Wrld Tour Mafia. He has other collaborations with features from Chavo, SSGKobe, Sharc, Jelly, K Swisha, sharkboy, and more.
Kura’s most recent release, BORN SEDITIONARY, demonstrates the new direction he’s taken sonically with the support of Pi’erre Bourne’s unmatched production. The project’s sound, aesthetic, and energy are inspired by 1980s UK punk scenes, with additional influences drawn from rock, rap, and pop music. With authenticity and vulnerability, Kura shares his transformative journey through each project he releases, and BORN SEDITIONARY is the next chapter in that story.
Known for his catchy flows, angelic vocals, and passionate lyrics, Deric, an 18-year-old rapper, singer-songwriter from Atlanta, GA is already solidifying his spot in the underground in less than two years of releasing music. Often compared to breakout stars like @Lil Tecca, @SSG Kobe, and @Pasto Flocco, Deric started rapping at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic on “pluggnb”-style beats, which were recently popularized by artists like @Summrs, @KanKan, and @Autumn.
Despite only being out for 2 months, his 2021 explosive single and viral sensation, “Go Anthem”, has almost 2 million plays across platforms, with the music video approaching 40,000 views. Deric’s style is partially inspired by the wide variety of artists he grew up listening to, including @Chris Brown, @Michael Jackson, and @Drake. Releasing his first all-platform single, @Last Summer, in August 2020, Deric succeeded in building a devoted fanbase without having released a debut album. With the quality and consistency of his work up to this point, his debut project is highly anticipated and 2022 promises to be the year where we all “envy” Deric.
At 16, KG quit his high school football team and began dedicating his time to producing beats, writing lyrics, and crafting his own sound. Navigating both family and personal hardships at a young age, his music was not only his passion, but an escape; the opportunity to express himself.
With its shadowy grooves and spacey hooks, Kevin George's debut single, "High Like This", vaulted the young Connecticut-based producer, rapper, and singer to a national audience. Citing inspirations from Kanye West to Tame Impala and The Weeknd, KG melds dark-toned R&B, hip-hop, and left-field pop elements with lyrics illustrating personal sentiments of trust, self-awareness, and affection. Released in January 2018, "High Like This" is the lead single from his debut EP, Loveland.
Two more EPs, Fortina (including "She Don't Love Me," with Gunna) and Hopeless Romantic, arrived later that year. In 2020, he paired with multi-instrumentalist and remix expert, Daktyl, for the song "Changes". Kevin George's energetic and versatile EP, Everybody's In My Ear, released in September 2021 and is currently available everywhere.
Calabasas — the Los Angeles duo of Watrcup and Franskiiz, bury personal experiences inside of bold and boisterous alternative pop, punctuated by hip-hop rhymes, R&B grooves, and cinematic flourishes. Their separate paths converged in 2019 while in Calabasas, California. In March of 2020, the duo caught the attention of seasoned industry mogul Bu Thiam, former SVP of A&R at Def Jam, and co-manager to Kanye West. With Bu's guidance, Calabasas was flown to Wyoming in May of 2020 to write and produce for Kanye West - exhibiting their skills as a production duo.
In July of 2020, their break out single, “Believe In Me”, found its way to the #1 spot on Spotify’s Fresh Finds editorial playlist just one week after its release. The song also peaked at #32 on the SoundCloud US Top 50 charts as it accumulated over 3 million streams. In October of 2020, Calabasas (formerly The Image) followed up “Believe In Me” with their infectious single, “Beaujolais”, which quickly gained popularity. The track was placed at #6 on Apple Music's Hot Tracks, featured in multiple Spotify editorial playlists, and peaked at #29 on the SoundCloud US Top 50 charts after garnering over 2 million streams in less than a month. Their newest single, “Voices” by Marc E Bassy and Calabasas, has over a million views on YouTube and is available now, everywhere.
